Built from a frustration shared in a hospital break room.
Mardo began in 2021, the year two physicians started sketching scrubs on the back of a chart. The cuts they could buy were boxy, the fabric was loud, and nothing survived a year of laundry. So they built what they wanted to wear.
Today the studio operates between New York and Porto, working with a single family-owned mill that has been weaving technical fabric for forty years. Each piece is cut, sewn and finished in Portugal — slowly, properly, and to last.
We are still small. We still answer the emails. And we still test every fit on a 12-hour shift before it ships.
