ABOUT • MARDO SCRUBS

We make uniforms for
people who don't think
about their uniform.

Story Image FOUNDER
THE STORY

Built from a frustration shared in a hospital break room.

Mardo began in 2021, the year two physicians started sketching scrubs on the back of a chart. The cuts they could buy were boxy, the fabric was loud, and nothing survived a year of laundry. So they built what they wanted to wear.

Today the studio operates between New York and Porto, working with a single family-owned mill that has been weaving technical fabric for forty years. Each piece is cut, sewn and finished in Portugal — slowly, properly, and to last.

We are still small. We still answer the emails. And we still test every fit on a 12-hour shift before it ships.

THE STANDARDS

Four rules we won't break.

01

Fabric first

We start with the weave. If the fabric is not right, the garment cannot be.

02

Made slowly

Cut and sewn in Portugal by a team that has done this for a generation.

03

Tested in shift

Nothing ships until clinicians have worn it through 100+ hours of work.

04

Quietly designed

No logos on the chest. No noise. The work should be louder than the uniform.
